Enter the World of Avalon

Stolen Histories

A world of magic is being swallowed by an empire that takes what it wants. A girl in over her head is after a stolen artifact, two master thieves are leading a crew to reclaim lost treasures, and their team is anything but ordinary—some of them shouldn’t even exist. With shaky loyalties, dangerous magic, and an empire tightening its grip, their plan is held together by luck and desperation. They might just pull it off… if the world—or they—don’t tear them apart first.

In this story about secrets, family, and good old-fashioned heists, a ruthless empire hoards stolen history, and a daring crew is reckless enough to take it back. But in a game where power is everything and disaster is inevitable, the difference between a successful job and a fatal mistake might come down to who's willing to risk it all.

Frequently Asked Questions

How did you come up for the idea for Stolen Histories?

My first inspiration for it was the idea that I could write a story with the inverse of the 'secret magical race that was thought a myth' trope. Basically, what if humans were the ones thought extinct? That idea has long since evolved into something rather different, but I still like to keep many of my core themes!

What are the different human races in Avalon?

The Sonai — Nullifiers

The Taos — Nightbloods

The Skorae — Sky Lords

The Andan — Forest Children

The Ashan — Sun Eaters

The Bera — Mountain Dwellers

The Osiyi — Sea Folk

Tell me about this generic sounding evil empire?

Well, the systems of opressions are pretty bland and generic! That's what makes it an empire. I like to think the people running it—the Eindride royal family and their minions—make for pretty interesting antagonists and foils. I try not to bog the book down too much with fantasy politics, but if that's your thing (like me) you won't be disapointed by the rest of the series!

What is a seer?

Seer, oracle, prophet, etc... Different names for someone who has insight into the future. This can mean visions, prophecies, simple instincts, or whatever else you can imagine. How this magic manifests is different per person, and I have fun writing how Amari's powers work, especially since she doesn't fully understand herself!

So there's different worlds or different dimensions?

Both! But for this book, dimensional travel is what we will be focusing on. Avalon is a world of magic with set rules and limitations, but occasionally there are portals to places with none of that, which pushes the characters out of their comfort zone.

I'm confused and I don't see my question.

Head over to the contact page, or maybe my tumblr! I'm always happy to answer questions about my stories!
