For many years it was 1) write a little, 2) look up something online, and 3) end up in research spiral.
That still will happen, but now I have a daily quota of 500 words to write. I tried having a higher goal and stressed myself out. A smaller daily word goal is easier and actually lets me have fun with it. I often end up writing more than 500 words.
I think of character traits/archetypes that interest me and build off that. Number one thing is creating characters you enjoy reading about. Everything else will follow.
My favorite thing to do is worldbuilding. In fact, I did far too much of it for years and neglected the actual writing part! Editing, however, is the bane of my existence.
Keeping creative control. My publisher is very conscientious of that.
For now, yes. I love answering questions about my book!
Sure!
